about

This is a stereo recording of one of the improv performances of the 4 channel sound installation piece: Tracing the Sharawadji. Drawing from a bank of unprocessed field recordings collected between 2004-2008, the intent of the installation was to recreate the ephemeral sonorities resonating in the everyday soundscape along the CP train tracks, running north of the Mile End and Plateau Mont-Royal neighborhoods in Montréal. The improvised soundscape rests upon fleeting and spontaneous juxtapositions of sound, which reflect the inherent unpredictability of naturally occurring sound environments
