about

Unto K. Laine, a professor at Helsinki University of Technology wrote an article entitled the Mystery of Auroral Sounds that inspired the soundscape that accompanies this piece. I used very low frequencies which fall beyond the human ear's capacity to decipher. The pulse of the low frequencies created a slight interference with other sounds in the composition and had an altering effect on the voice. The composed soundscape was played on the radio, and the text was read live in studio - resulting in this piece: Auroral Sounds (For Unto K. Laine)
